Troll Sketch

Quick sketch I did in the Painter 11 Trial, I tried to work more with shading to build up form instead of just linework...
...I think it's an improvement,though that may just be wishful thinking

Critique and advise much appreciated!

P.S. Could this be worked up into a portfolio piece for college or is it too rough?
